Amma was magnanimous in helping micro and small industries: Tamil Nadu MSMEs

Chennai, Dec 6 (KNN) The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo, J Jayalalithaa passed away on Monday night at 11.:30 pm from a cardiac arrest. Puratchi Thalaivi Amma, as she was also known as, was a people’s CM.

Although unapproachable, she still had a connect with poor and common man of the state. Either through her welfare schemes, policies or through her fights for the rights of her people, she touched the lives of every citizen of the state.

Cries of “Amma” can be well heard throughout the streets of Chennai as her people bid a tearful adieu to their 68-year-old leader.

Jayalalitha was not only an icon in Tamil Nadi but she was also of great importance at the national level politics. This is well evident from the fact that dignitaries from politics including her opponents to film industry to industry, everyone is visiting Chennai to pay homage to the fearless leader.

Her death plunged the State and the party into grief which leads to the declaration of mourn for the next seven days.

Just like any other common man in the state, the MSMEs too feel that her demise is a big loss to the.

Talking to KNN, K.R.Gnanasambandan, Vice President, Tamil Nadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA), said, “She was always positive for industrialization. She wanted to have a number of companies in the Tamil Nadu and was able to attract huge investment.”

Gnanasambandan with his condolence also said that she was very friendly with the micro industries especially with the textile sector. She was very magnanimous in exempting the small items and handmade items. The industrial sector will see the loss at least for some time to come.

She had contributed a lot in the development of the state whether it is a problem of power supply or helping the small scale industries. She launched various programmes in which lakhs of people were participated in TN.

“She was very much interested in promoting the industrialization and conducting the forums. She also launched free scheme of up to Rs 1 crore loan for the graduates and 5 lakhs for the uneducated or unemployed who wants to start industry,” said T.V. Hariharan, President, Coimbatore District Small Scale Industries Association (CODISSIA).

Outside of political rallies or tightly controlled press conference, Amma was rarely seen in public.

“She has done lot of contribution for the small industries like generator subsidies and many more. It’s a huge loss to SMEs” said K.R. Thangaraj, President of Dindigul District Tiny and Small Scale Industrialists Association.

May be such kind of attitude is the reason which made her ‘Amma’ of the state and ace of south-Indian politics. (KNN/ RS)
