Haryana's most recognized mini cluster scheme of industries department to be replicated in other states and UTs

New Delhi, July 2 (KNN) After receiving recognition from the Centre for proactively undertaking cluster development initiatives, Haryana’s mini cluster scheme of the Industries Department is set to be replicated in other states and Union Territories as well.

In this regard, the ministry has circulated a letter along with a note on ‘Best practices in MSME cluster development in Haryana’ to the Principal Secretaries, industries of all states and UTs across the country, urging them to draw up their initiatives on the lines of Haryana’s blueprint for the program.

To facilitate smaller industrial units of the state and promote their growth, Haryana prepared an in-house mini cluster scheme on the lines of central scheme for the development of industrial clusters.

Commenting over this, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Devender Singh said that the Haryana enterprise promotion policy that was launched in 2015 altered the contribution of the central scheme, which gave 70 per cent contribution to benefit the MSMEs. Reversing the original shares, Haryana increased its share to 20 per cent and lowered that on unit owners to 10 per cent.

Later, we launched an innovative mini-cluster scheme which has been appreciated by the Centre and recommended as a successful model for other states, he added.

Under the scheme, the government will help small and micro units to set up common facility centres (for testing, design, R&D training centre, effluent treatment, complementing production processes, common logistics centre, common raw material bank/sales depot etc), offering 90 per cent of the project with the maximum project cost of Rs 2 crore.

The remaining 10 per cent will be borne by the units in the cluster.
