MSME Minister to launch revised Zero Defect, Zero Effect scheme on April 28

New Delhi, April 26 (KNN) A revised MSME sustainable ZED (Zero Defect Zero Effect) scheme will be launched by the Minister of MSME Narayan Rane on April 28 at Vigyan Bhawan, Senior Officer from the Department informed KNN Bureau.

The scheme has been revised by the Ministry of MSME to simplify it from earlier 50 assessing parameters to bring down to 20 parameters and provide other benefits to ZED certified MSMEs. Provisions like preference in government procurement scheme, concession on rate of interest on loan, preference in IPR and incubation scheme and concession on parcels of goods in railways have been made in the revised scheme.

The scheme will be made available on the website of DC MSME on April 28. Desired MSME can register themselves on the portal once it is launched.

The objective of the ZED certification scheme is to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the adoption of zero defect production processes that have a low/no impact on the environment.

After ZED assessment, MSMEs can reduce wastage substantially, increase productivity, expand their market as IOPs, become vendors to CPSUs, have more IPRs, develop new products and processes etc. (KNN/AT)
