MSME Ministry Promotes Divyangjan Artisans Through Railway Station Retail Spaces Under PM Vishwakarma

New Delhi, Jun 12 (KNN) The Ministry of MSME is promoting market access and livelihood opportunities for Divyangjan artisans under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme through the One Station One Product (OSOP) initiative, which provides dedicated retail spaces at railway stations to showcase and sell their products.

OSOP Initiative Expands Market Access For Divyangjan Artisans

The initiative is aimed at advancing the Samriddhi (prosperity) pillar of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme by helping traditional artisans expand their market reach, increase product visibility and generate sustainable income opportunities.

According to the ministry, 28 Divyangjan beneficiaries from different trades have so far been provided stalls at various railway stations under the OSOP initiative.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme, launched on September 17, 2023, provides end-to-end support to artisans and craftspeople engaged in 18 traditional trades through skill development, financial assistance, technology upgradation, branding and marketing support.

MSME-Railways Partnership Strengthens Artisan Outreach

To address market access challenges faced by artisans and micro enterprises, the Ministry of MSME partnered with the Ministry of Railways in January 2026 to integrate PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries into the OSOP scheme.

The ministry said the initiative places special emphasis on Divyangjan artisans by providing an inclusive platform to showcase their craftsmanship and participate in the national marketplace.

Transparent Allotment Process Promotes Inclusive Participation

Before being linked to OSOP outlets, artisans receive support under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme through capacity-building programmes, affordable credit facilities, technology adoption assistance and branding support to improve competitiveness and market readiness.

Under the OSOP framework, railway stations highlight local products and crafts unique to their regions. The scheme also prioritises participation from women entrepreneurs, Divyangjan beneficiaries and other marginalised groups.

Outlet allotments are carried out through a transparent process managed by the Railways, with preference given to local artisans. Selection is based on a draw of lots among approved applicants, followed by issuance of allotment letters upon payment of the prescribed fee.

The ministry said the initiative supports economic inclusion, financial independence and socio-economic empowerment of Divyangjan artisans while contributing to the preservation and promotion of India's traditional crafts and cultural heritage.
