National vendor development programme cum industrial exhibition

Agra, Oct 4 (KNN)  The Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME) is organising a national vendor development programme cum industrial exhibition for entrepreneurs, PSUs and financial service providers to showcase their products and services.

The National Expo is scheduled to be held here from November-28 to 30.

Micro, small, medium and large scale units, public sector undertakings, government departments and financial service providers have been invited to display their products and services, as per a press notification.

Sectors that can participate in the event are banks/financial institutions, finance and insurance services, automobiles, computer/IT, telecom products, footwear, furniture and furnishings, handloom, electronic goods, audio visual, interior designing products, art and craft, food products, health equipment, sport items, educational institutes, tours and travels, cosmetics, skin care products, fashion accessories, garments, home and kitchen appliances, etc.

The event will also feature seminars on Public Procurement Policy 2012, IPR, Vendor-Vendee Meet, Government Purchase Programmes, and DC MSME Schemes (NMCP).

Vendor Development Programmes (VDPs) provide common platform for business as well as selling organizations to inter-act with each other with a view to identifying emerging demands of the buyer organizations while simultaneously providing an opportunity for displaying the capabilities of the small scale entrepreneurs and their industrial ventures.

Such programmes have proved to be of immense use in locating suitable entrepreneurs by a number of buying organizations including the Public Sector Enterprises, various Wings of Defense, Railways and others in indigenising a number of products which hitherto have been imported at a colossal cost.
