Noida MSMEs submit demand letter to UP Govt; seek conversion of Sector 9-10 market to wholesale market

Noida, Mar 28 (KNN) Convert Noida’s Sector 9 and Sector 10 markets into wholesale market for manufacturers  as absence of one in the city  is a huge hindrance for the MSME manufacturers, Noida Entrepreneurs Association (NEA) said this in it demand letter submitted to the UP Industrial Development Minister Satish Mahana.

NEA presented seven-point demand letter seeking attention to some of their long standing demands to the new Minister at a felicitation event hosted for welcoming him.

The entrepreneurs have demanded a discount in the existing leas rent of industrial plots from the present rate of 2.50% of circle rate.

The MSMEs demanded the lease rent be reduced to 1% of the circle rate charges. The next demand made by the entrepreneurs is that Sector 9 and 10 be declared wholesale markets for the manufacturing and trading community.

"The absence of a wholesale market in Noida is a huge hindrance to manufacturers in the city as all material need to be brought from Delhi or elsewhere. We propose Sector 9 and 10 be converted into a wholesale market for the manufacturers," Vipin Malhan, president NEA, said.

NEA has also demanded that several areas which are designated for IT and ITeS usage be converted for industrial use. "The IT and ITeS allotments were made at a time when IT sector was booming. However, over the years, business activity in these sectors have dwindled. We propose some of these plots which were allotted for IT usage be converted for industrial use," Malhan added.

NEA also made a strong proposal for reduction of allotments spaces to small units.

"Not all types of factories need expansive spaces. We have requested that a scheme is introduced for SMEs through which small plots spanning 200 to 1000 square meter dimensions can be leased out," Malhan added.

The entrepreneurs have also demanded that a massive encroachment removal drive is launched in Noida to clean the industrial and business areas.
