Applications for National Awards in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing scheme to be sent by Aug 31

New Delhi, Aug 29 (KNN) The last date of receiving applications for National Awards in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) scheme has been extended till 31st August, 2016, the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT has said.

The objective of the scheme for presentation of National Awards in ESDM Sector is to recognize the achievements of successful industry in the ESDM sector, to encourage entrepreneurs, new investments and innovation in the sector through prestigious National Awards.

The award will be distributed to entrepreneurs in the electronics sector for outstanding efforts in various categories including National Award for Best Exporter; National Award for Best Innovation; National award for fastest growth in MSME and more.

The award money ranges from Rs 3 lakh up to Rs 10 lakh for different categories.

With regards to the terms & conditions to be eligible for the award, the units Organisation/ Entity involved in ESDM would be eligible and for best innovation awards, the IP resultant from innovation should be borne out in India, said a notification.                                      

The eligible enterprises or their representatives need to send their nominations in the prescribed format through their respective Industry Associations in ESDM

The Industry Associations after proper screening will send the same to National Level Award Committee (NLAC).

Each industry Association can forward maximum five applications in each category. The NLAC will then prepare the final list of awards winners.

The scheme is initially for three years for every calendar year. (KNN Bureau)
