Aurangabad MSMEs to form solar cluster to promote solar rooftops

Aurangabad, Oct 1 (KNN) The Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) and Marathwada association of small scale industries and Agriculture (MASSIA) is keen to form a solar cluster to promote solar rooftops amongst MSMEs.

The announcement was made during a recent conference organised on 'Solar Roof Top Project for SMEs' by Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in association with MASSIA and CMIA, at Waluj MIDC.

'Solar Roof Top Projects for SMEs - viability, finance and implementation' was the theme of conference, which was attended by more than 50 SMEs.

An official from PwC consultancy team said there is a very positive picture of Aurangabad Auto cluster to adopt the solar roof top system.

According to a media report, Subodh Kumar, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) general manager and S Ravi from SBI Capex spoke about possible financial options for SMEs for installing the solar roof top system.

SIDBI official assured to provide loans on very low interest as 8.5% to Aurangabad SMEs. SBI also presented their various schemes for solar roof top installation in SMEs with interest rate as low as 10%.
