Bengaluru, Sep 22 (KNN) In order to promote procurement from Micro & Small Enterprises and also Micro & Small Enterprises owned by SC/ST Entrepreneurs, BEML Limited is organizing a Vendor Meet in the city on September 30.

BEML Limited (formerly Bharat Earth Movers Limited) is the leading manufacturer of heavy earth moving equipment in Asia and an Indian Public Sector Company under the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. The company is engaged in the manufacturing of rail coaches and spare parts, and mining equipment at their Bangalore Complex.

BEML has invited its existing as well as aspiring vendors at the meet. During the meet, there would be a dedicated session for the SC/ ST entrepreneurs.

According to the Public Procurement Policy, which has been made mandatory from April 1, 2015, 20% of total procurement of goods and services by Central Ministries and CPSEs shall be made from the MSEs.

20% of such procurement from MSEs, i.e 4% of total procurement of goods and services shall be made from MSEs owned by SC & ST entrepreneurs. (KNN Bureau)
