Chennai Ordnance Clothing Factory cautions textile mfgs, traders against imitating their designs

New Delhi, Sep 30 (KNN) The Ordnance Clothing Factory (OCF), Avadi, Chennai, under the Ministry of Defence, has cautioned the textile manufacturers from imitating their Jungle Pattern and Desert Patter designs with army logo which are used for army uniforms.

It has said that imitating the designs would invite civil and criminal action for unscrupulous person, firms, companies etc.

In a caution notice, the OCF said they are an exclusive proprietor of the Design of Cloth PC Disruptive with Army Logo, Jungle Pattern & Desert Pattern).

The particular kinds of designs (mentioned in the caution notice) are their intellectual property.

“Notice is hereby given to all concerned that unauthorized use of the design or a deceptively/ confusingly similar design or imitation of the design by any person, firm or company in respect of their goods or services would amount to infringement of our copyright…and liable for legal proceedings under Design Act, 2000,” said OCF.

OCF said it would take action against the one found to imitate their designs or pass off their goods, business and services as end for their goods, business and services by use of such imitative design without further notice.

Further, the ordnance factory has requested the textile manufacturers, traders and general public to bring to their notice of any misuse or use of imitative designs resembling their designs. (KNN Bureau)
