FSSAI to provide licenses to FBOs in an hour after submitting application

New Delhi, Dec 17 (KNN) The time for the food business operators (FBOs) to get license from the Food Safety & Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) has come down to just one hour.

In a tweet,  FSSAI said, FSSAI CEO Pawan Agarwal has informed that the time for giving license was brought down to just one hour in order to align with the government’s wish to improve the ease of doing business.

The FBOs can get the licenses within an hour of submission of application to FSSAI.

The move is expected to improve the ease of doing business environment in the sector. This decision was taken after the matter was discussed during the Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting.

FSSAI has made a plan for this project and it will be implemented in 10 districts spread across the country over a period of time.

FSSAI in July 2018, had already made request to states/UTs to carry out enforcement drive targeting non-licensed FBOs.

In the past also, FSSAI has repeatedly requested states/UTs to carry out the survey of unlicensed/unregistered FBOs.
