GIZ & MCCIA organizing one-day Conclave to promote innovation in SMEs in Pune on Dec 6

Pune, Nov 28 (KNN) An innovation conclave titled ‘Industry Academia Linkages – Collaboration for Innovation Promotion in SMEs’ is being organized in the city on December 6, 2018.

Industries Minister of Maharashtra, Subhash Desai will be the chief guest at the conclave.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Ministry of MSME, Government of India are jointly implementing a bilateral cooperation to promote innovation in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The Pune conclave is being organized by GIZ in association with Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA).

The conclave will be held at Grand Sheraton, Pune from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The one-day conclave aims to improve the local innovation ecosystem by strengthening and fostering cooperation between companies, research institutions, government, service providers and larger enterprises.

Along with Desai, Mandeep Kaur, JDC, Office of DC-MSME, GOI; Satish M Gavai, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, Government of Maharashtra; Noor Naqshbandi, Programme Director, Private Sector Development, GIZ; Pradeep Bhargava, President, MCCIA, Chamal Lal Dhanda, Director, MSME Innovation Programme, GIZ will be the key speakers at the event.

Panel discussion will be held focusing on how incubation is being used by Corporate as an effective tool for innovation promotion. Experts like Amit Paranjpe from Technocrat; Debasis Goswami, Director Innovation, start-up Bosch India; Suprakash Chaudhuri, MD, Siemens Industry Software; Shankar Kumar, Technical Adviser, GIZ will hold the discussions.

Brainstorming discussions would also be held on role played by academic incubation centre in innovation promotion, finance for innovations and MSME perspective on technology, process and innovation.

The endeavor behind organizing the conclave is to develop closer cooperation between industry and academia and discuss through success stories the ways to address the gaps between these vital players of the innovation ecosystem.

The conclave will give a platform to the stakeholders who influence and shape the innovation ecosystem.

As Germany is known for strong cooperation between its industries and academia, German Government runs several programmes in collaboration with the Indian Government to develop closer cooperation between industry and academia. (KNN Bureau)
