New Delhi, Nov 14 (KNN) India needs to deliberate the challenges which digitalization has thrown in, said Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP). 

He added, “We need to look at the enormous opportunities that are coming our way.”

He said this at a conference which was organized by World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), on the topic “The global digital content maker.”

Abhishek also talked on the initiatives government has taken to enforce Intellectual property rights (IPR) in India.

He quoted, “In the last 3-4 years we have made many strides and also taken initiatives to enforce a good IPR policy regime.”

He added, “We have tried to streamline our IPR administrations as well.”

“We have to protect our intellectual properties the way we protect our physical properties,” he emphasized.

WIPO Director General, Francis Gurry was also present at the conference.

The two day event will be focusing on the Asia’s challenges and opportunities in global digital content market, education outputs in digital era, sustaining the film industry in the digital environment and digital inclusion.
