‘Industry 4.0 Centre of Excellence’ to incubate digital transformation: Executive Director, Bharat Forge

New Delhi, Oct 13 (KNN) The facility of a working Centre of Excellence built on its industry 4.0 will incubate digital transformation ideas, develop and experience new cutting-edge technologies and train its people to be able to deploy it on the shop floor, said Amit Kalyani, Executive Director, Bharat Forge.

Speaking at the inauguration of ‘Industry 4.0 Centre of Excellence’, Pune he said, “The Industry 4.0 Centre of Excellence will accelerate the digital transformation of our manufacturing facilities while enabling swift and informed decision-making.”

He added, “It will help to co-create and continuously evolve and augment our processes for agile manufacturing. This is in line with our vision of moving towards a digitised workplace for higher levels of productivity and efficiency across all the operating processes.”

“Leveraging on PTC’s technology stack and Bharat Forge’s strong manufacturing excellence, we will drive digital innovation and derive significant business value,” he said.

This CoE will help Bharat Forge to enable preventive maintenance, improve operational efficiency, product quality and time to market. This facility will build the foundation for machine learning and artificial intelligence.

According to Kalyan Sridhar, vice-president and Country Manager, PTC India, “Industry 4.0 is transforming the way products are created, manufactured, operated and serviced.”

He added, “Organisations are investing significant resources to transform their business; thus having clear direction and the right technologies is critical for their continued success. We are pleased to partner with Bharat Forge in this innovative initiative to accelerate their transformation to achieve greater value.”

The Centre of Excellence was inaugurated by Baba N Kalyani, chairman and managing director, Bharat Forge; Stefano Rinaldi, senior vice-president, PTC – Western Europe, Emerging Markets and India; Amit Kalyani, executive director, Bharat Forge and Kalyan Sridhar, vice-president and country manager, PTC India.
