Proposed improvements in e-way bill generation is a mismatch, there is some relief but issues remain same: AIMTC

New Delhi, Nov 19 (KNN) Proposed improvements in e-way bill generation is basically a mismatch, there is some relief but the issues remain the same, said Naveen Kumar Gupta, Secretary General, All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) while talking to KNN India.

“There is lot of harassment that that the drivers are still facing,” he mentioned.

On the amendments, he said, “Partially these changes will help but will not solve the entire problem, because working of a transport trade is entirely different.”

“All the policies made are more theoretical in nature rather than practical, this should be understood and laws should be made and worked upon accordingly,” he highlighted.

Gupta said, “Working of the transportation trade should be understood as there are various unorganized sectors.”

“There is lot permutation and combination that goes into the various relationships between the stakeholders. There are many complexities as timeline has been fixed now and the meter keeps on running,” he said.

Gupta recalled that earlier there used to be only one check-post, but now in Gujarat alone there are 35 mobile spots and anyone can stop you and charge for small clerical error also. But there is a relief that the amount charged is lower now.”
