TPCI Partners With Abu Dhabi Food Hub To Launch Indo-Food Park

Mumbai, May 20 (KNN) Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI), in partnership with Abu Dhabi Food Hub, has launched the Indo-Food Park initiative aimed at strengthening food trade links between India and the UAE while creating a global gateway for Indian food suppliers.

The launch took place in Mumbai on Monday, with TPCI signing a supporting Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the Indo-Food Park across India.

Indo-Food Park To Connect Indian Suppliers With Global Markets

The Indo-Food Park has been envisioned as a dedicated platform for Indian food companies seeking to expand their access to the UAE, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), African, and other international markets by connecting Indian suppliers and manufacturers to the Abu Dhabi Food Hub ecosystem.

The Abu Dhabi Food Hub is being developed as an integrated ecosystem for global food trading and logistics, spanning 3.3 square kilometres. It is designed as a one-stop platform linking producers, traders, logistics providers, and regulators across food categories including fresh produce, dairy, meat, seafood, and dry commodities.

Strategically located between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the hub offers multimodal connectivity through sea, air, and land routes, positioning it as a major gateway connecting India to the Middle East and Africa.

India-UAE Food Trade Gains Momentum Under CEPA

Speaking at the launch, Mohit Singla, Chairman TPCI said the UAE remains one of the world’s most food import-dependent countries, importing nearly 85-90 percent of its food requirements.

He noted that India currently accounts for nearly 10 percent of the UAE’s food import market and is increasingly viewed as one of the country’s most dependable suppliers.

“With the strengthening of India-UAE trade ties under CEPA and growing investments in food processing, logistics, and quality systems, India is well-positioned to further expand its share in the UAE’s food and beverage import market,” Singla said.

He added that the Indo-Food Park marks an important step toward strengthening India-UAE food trade relations while building resilient global supply chains.

India’s food and beverage exports to the UAE rose from USD 2.3 billion in 2021 to USD 3.6 billion in 2025, registering a four-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.3 per cent.

The UAE’s total food and beverage imports are estimated at around USD 22 billion in 2025, reflecting significant market opportunities for Indian exporters.

According to TPCI, the initiative is expected to provide Indian exporters with faster and more efficient market access while supporting India’s role in global food security and sustainable supply chain development.
