Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the scheme aims to promote innovation in the MSME sector by extending incentives under the start-up policy to enterprises registered and classified as non-IT start-ups by the Start-up and IT Cell, reported Times Of India.
“The scheme will incentivise and promote innovation in the MSME sector and extend incentives under the start-up policy to MSMEs that have registered and been classified as non-IT start-ups by the Start-up and IT Cell. The policy will boost the growth of MSMEs by improving innovation, competitiveness, manufacturing activities and products,” Sawant said.

Sawant said the scheme seeks to create an environment conducive to the sustainable growth of MSME start-ups and strengthen their ability to develop innovative products and processes.
“It will promote all forms of innovation across the entire value chain and support the development of ideas into innovative applications,” he said.
The scheme will support MSMEs and SMMEs working on affordable innovations that can benefit a large number of people while remaining commercially viable and sustainable.
Support For Non-IT Start-ups
By extending start-up policy incentives to eligible non-IT enterprises, the scheme aims to broaden support for innovation beyond the information technology sector.
The initiative is expected to encourage manufacturing activities, improve product development and strengthen the competitiveness of smaller businesses in Goa.
The scheme will cover enterprises registered and classified as non-IT start-ups by the state’s Start-up and IT Cell, according to the chief minister.
