Lucknow, Jul 16 (KNN) The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh Promote Pharma Council (UPPPC) on July 14 at the India Expo Mart.
The partnership aims to strengthen the pharmaceutical and medical devices ecosystem through a range of joint initiatives. These include improving quality standards and regulatory compliance, and promoting awareness of the Indian Pharmacopoeia as well as pharmacovigilance and materiovigilance practices, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
Both organisations will also conduct training programmes, workshops and awareness campaigns for industry stakeholders. The collaboration seeks to encourage research, innovation and closer ties between industry and academia.
Support for MSMEs and Patient Safety
A key focus of the MoU is support for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), including the use of digital tools for reporting adverse events. The agreement also emphasises enhancing patient safety through quality assurance and post-market surveillance measures.
Boost to Uttar Pradesh’s Pharma Ecosystem
The ministry said the collaboration supports efforts to position Uttar Pradesh as a hub for pharmaceuticals, medical devices and healthcare technologies, and is expected to boost standards, innovation and global competitiveness.
