Patna, Mar 4 (KNN) The five-day 'Fagunotsav' fair organised by Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh concluded on Monday at Gyan Bhawan in Patna with impressive sales totaling Rs 1.93 crore.

The exhibition featured products crafted by women entrepreneurs from Bihar and several other states including Kashmir, Assam, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand.

The event was coordinated in partnership with key financial and development institutions, including micro-small and medium enterprises (MSME), Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard), and the Women and Child Development Corporation (WCDC).

Visitors had the opportunity to explore 200 stalls displaying unique items created by women entrepreneurs from diverse regions.

At the concluding ceremony, Industries Minister Nitish Mishra acknowledged the significant contribution of women entrepreneurs to national development.

"Women are performing well and moving ahead in almost all the fields they are venturing in, including entrepreneurship, leading to their empowerment as well as growth of the economy," Mishra remarked.

The minister expressed appreciation for the quality and variety of products displayed at the various stalls.

Usha Jha, President of Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh, provided details about the fair's performance, noting that food stalls featuring traditional local delicacies were particularly popular among visitors.

She reported strong sales across multiple product categories, including clothing materials, ready-made garments, decorative show pieces, and household items.

"The total sale of Rs 1.93 crore registered during the Fagunotsav is very encouraging and all the sellers are very happy with the customers' footfalls," Jha stated, adding that this year's fair expanded its scope by inviting artisans and entrepreneurs from other states, moving beyond its traditional focus on local women entrepreneurs.
