New Delhi, Nov 16 (KNN) Raising concerns over the problems faced by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of the state due to the power department, industry body Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) has written a letter to the state power minister stating the harm caused by department towards government’s flagship ease of doing business project.

BBIA in the letter said that the Ease of Doing concept seems not a priority for the Power Development Department resulting in great inconvenience faced by the industrial units in respect with regard to sanction of power loads, permission for the installation of DG Sets and other related matters of the MSME sector of the state.

BBIA in the letter further informed that the Power Development Commissioner  is not adhering to the guidelines of the Govt. Order No 152-PDDof 2011 dated 28-04-2011 by the virtue of which a regular monthly meeting is supposed to be held to clear the pending Power Connection cases.

The industrial sector comprising of a fair share of MSMEs are suffering badly due to  non release of Power Connections in time resulting delay in the start of commercial production due to which there is huge financial loss as the interest being paid on the amount borrowed from the financial institutes continues.

Moreover even after the approval of the cases by the Designated Committee, the cases are sent to the administrative department for approval whereas there is no such guidelines issued as per the Govt. Order No. 152-PDD of 2011.

The industry body directed the letter to Dr. Nimral Kumar Singh, Deputy Chief Minister who is also Power Minister to intervene into matter  & issue immediate orders for the adoption of Ease of Doing Concept  to the concerned officials.

The industry also demanded the Ministry to strictly instruct the officials to adhere to the guidelines of the Govt. Order No 152-PDDof 2011 dated 28-04-2011 of PDD for the time bound sanction of Power Cases,  Re-Delegate the powers for the sanction of power connections to Chief Engineers, M&RE, Jammu/Kashmir up to 1000 HP, Superintendent Engineer up to 500 HP, Executive Engineer Up to 200HP and Asstt. Executive Engineer up to 100 HP Power load to minimize the delay in the sanction of Power connection. (KNN/DA)
