Jharkhand's high ranking based on false data base; actual picture completely different: FJCCI

New Delhi, Nov 24 (KNN) The Federation of Jharkhand Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) has alleged that the high ranking given to the state during national survey on various parameters including infrastructure was not true and the real picture is quite different.

With regard to this, KNN India spoke to Deepak Kumar Maroo, President of FJCCI who claimed that the actual picture of Jharkhand is completely different from the ranking that has been given by the government.

“Be it the issue of cleanliness in the cities or industrial areas, Jharkhand is being rated among leading states of the country. To provide fifth rank to Tatisilwai Industrial Area in internal infrastructure is like adding insult to injury for local entrepreneurs who are facing dilapidated roads, deteriorating law and order and a very bad power supply system,” the FJCCI president told media.

Commenting on this, Maroo said “If in such condition, government is giving top ranks to state, imagine the conditions of other states which have been ranked least.”

He claimed that the State Industry Department along with its consultants is providing wrong information to secure top rankings in the country.

He said “Our objective was to bring to the knowledge of the government that the report furnished by the department is not right and we are not satisfied,”

Reports sought by FJCCI on infrastructure from all 60 industrial area of the State revealed that basic facilities are almost nil.

Describing the condition of industrial areas, Maroo said that the condition is very pathetic as the area lacks basic infrastructure facility like, electricity, drainage system and security.

He said everything is lacking in the industrial estates of Jharkhand despite paying fees and it needs to be taken care of by the government.

He further informed that the several letters concerning the situation had been written to the concerned authorities but received no response.

About Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), he said that the government is not taking care of present industries which are already here.

Three years ago, Momentum Jharkhand was launched in state to bring investment in state that was a complete failure, he added.

He said “We (Industries) are the brand ambassador and if we are happy or flourishing, the investments will automatically come.”

So, why we need things like momentum Jharkhand, Maroo raised the question.

With regard to state commitments, Maroo said, as per the commitments, industries are not getting subsidies; even MSMEs are facing difficulty in getting licenses. The single window system is not working efficiently.

On asking Centre’s initiative on providing loans in 59 minutes scheme, Maroo said that the job of central government is to make schemes but implementation part is done by state government.

Both the levels of government i.e. Centre & State should come forward and work in synchronized manner.

Regarding those 12 major announcements FJCCI has written letter to state and centre government asking back up papers to study how they have decided and worked out.
