Jowai, July 9 (KNN) The Meghalaya state skill development society (MSSDS) organised a skill development training on Electrical Domestic Solution and Plumber General at Bosco Pnar Multipurpose Vocational Training centre in Jowai.

The training program was earlier inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma on 8thMarch.

The chief guest of the formal inauguration that took place yesterday was Brightstar Chyrmang, MDC, Jowai North.

Speaking at the occasion, chyrmang emphasized on the importance of skill training. He pointed out that like academic excellence, skill training in different sectors was also equally important to secure a job.

The duration of the Electrical Domestic Solution program will be 350 hours and that of Plumbing General will be 410 hours. The programs will be approximately completed within three months.

The beneficiaries of this project will be 100 candidates from Jaintia Hills.

MSSDS through this initiative aims to develop a cohesive skill formation, entrepreneurship and placement framework for the State based on the current and emerging needs of the state economy. (KNN Bureau)
