Hyderabad, Dec 19 (KNN) With the aim to take the IT industry beyond the capital city, the Telangana government is planning to set up IT hubs in five more districts of the state. The decision to establish new technology centres is part of the state government's policy to take IT to tier-II towns.

According to state Information and Technology Minister KT Rama Rao, the IT hubs will be coming up in Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Siddipet and Adilabad. Three IT hubs in Warangal, Khammam and Karimnagar have already been set up and are running successfully, the minister added.

As per reports, the Nizamabad and Mahbubnagar IT Hubs are in their final stage and will be inaugurated soon. The Siddipet hub is nearing completion and the Nalgonda IT hub is likely to take six more months.

"As part of the 3 D Mantra - Digitise, Decarbonise and Decentralise; the state government is taking IT to District Headquarters," Rao said.

As per reports, the state government is also focusing on growing the IT infrastructure and facilities in Hyderabad. Quoting a recent property market report, the minister tweeted, "Hyderabad surpassed Bengaluru in the new office space addition in the 1st half of FY 2022-23."

According to the Anarock report, Hyderabad witnessed a significant upward trend in office space absorption, especially in the IT and allied sectors, surpassing all other major metros in India.

Hyderabad added 8.2 million sq. ft. of new office space in the first half of this financial year and the IT/ITeS sector dominates in the office space market with around 39 per cent share of the total absorption, the report noted.

Notably, according to the President of the industry body Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association, Manisha Saboo, who heads the Infosys Hyderabad SEZ Centre, if the predicted recession happens in the US, it is likely to turn out to be beneficial for companies in Hyderabad as many MNCs could outsource work. There will be opportunities in animation, semiconductors and new segments like the Mobility Valley here, he added.  (KNN Bureau)
