JSW UAV To Set Up Unmanned Aerial Systems Plant In Telangana
Hyderabad, Jan 23 (KNN) Telangana has successfully attracted a significant defence technology investment, with JSW UAV Limited set to establish a cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) manufacturing facility in the state.
The agreement was formalised during the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, marking a strategic milestone in the state's technological development.
The state government and JSW UAV Limited have finalised a memorandum of understanding that involves a substantial investment of approximately Rs 800 crore.
The project will be executed in collaboration with a prominent US-based defence technology company, highlighting the international scope of the initiative.
State officials emphasised the potential economic and technological impact of the project. IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu expressed optimism about the investment, stating that the agreement would ‘set a trend in the sector’ and positioning Telangana as a potential leader in defence manufacturing.
The Chief Minister's Office noted that the project is expected to generate over 200 high-value jobs, further solidifying the state's reputation as an emerging hub for advanced technological innovation.
The strategic investment underscores Telangana's commitment to attracting sophisticated defence and technology investments, potentially positioning the state as a significant player in India's defence manufacturing ecosystem.
