Hyderabad, Apr 22 (KNN) NAREDCO Telangana Real Estate Developers Association has launched NIPUN (The National Initiative for Promotion of Upskilling of Nirman workers) to enhance the skills and capabilities of workers in the construction sector. 

This programme has been started at Muppa's Melody, Osman Nagar in Hyderabad. 

S Devendar Reddy, Chief City Planner, GHMC inaugurated the NIPUN programme in the presence of B Sunil Chandra Reddy, President of NAREDCO Telangana and other dignitaries.

Poised to become the largest employer by 2022, the construction industry is employing more than 75 million people.

It is also challenged by an acute shortage of skilled manpower. 

Over the next 10 years, the real estate and construction sector alone needs 45 million additional skilled workers.

The need of the hour is to develop and offer a formal learning and skilling programmes to workers.  (KNN Bureau)
