Unilever Agrees To Set-up Two Manufacturing Facilities In Telangana Following Discussions With CM Reddy In Davos
Hyderabad, Jan 22 (KNN) Consumer goods giant Unilever has committed to establishing two new manufacturing facilities in Telangana, following discussions between Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Unilever CEO Hein Schumacher at the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos.
The announcement marks a significant expansion of Unilever's presence in the state, where its operations have been limited despite maintaining multiple manufacturing sites across India.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Reddy emphasised Telangana's strategic geographical position as a gateway to southern India and its connectivity to other regions of the country.
In response to these discussions, Unilever announced plans to construct a palm oil facility and refining unit in the state. The Telangana government has proposed locating the facility in Kamareddy district and assured full support for the project.
Additionally, Unilever will establish a second manufacturing unit dedicated to bottle cap production.
In a separate development, the Telangana government strengthened its position in the space technology sector by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Hyderabad-based Skyroot.
The agreement involves the development of an integrated private rocket manufacturing, integration, and testing facility in the state.
Skyroot has committed to investing approximately Rs 500 crore in this venture, further solidifying Telangana's growing presence in the aerospace industry.
