UP To Develop Nine Mega Industrial Zones Under SVPEIZ Initiative

Lucknow, Jul 25 (KNN) The Uttar Pradesh government plans to develop nine mega industrial zones across key cities to attract large private investments and promote industrial growth, employment, skill development and entrepreneurship.

The proposed industrial zones will be established in Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Noida, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Ayodhya, Aligarh, Ghaziabad and Prayagraj under the flagship Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zone (SVPEIZ) initiative.

Hub-and-Spoke Model to Drive Regional Growth
The project will adopt a hub-and-spoke model, with each zone designed around the region's industrial strengths, resource availability and investment potential. 

A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) will be constituted for each hub to oversee planning and implementation, reported Business Standard.

According to the plan, a total of 16 SVPEIZs will be developed across the state through various implementing agencies.

Multiple Agencies to Lead Implementation
The MSME Department and the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) will each develop five zones. 

The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will develop two zones each, while the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) and the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) will develop one zone each.

The initiative is aimed at creating integrated industrial ecosystems that enhance investment, manufacturing capacity and employment generation across Uttar Pradesh.
