India, Poland Hold Talks to Deepen MSME, Trade and Technology Cooperation
New Delhi, Jul 16 (KNN) India and Poland held bilateral discussions on Wednesday to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector, with a focus on enterprise development, technology, innovation, trade and institutional collaboration.
The meeting, held at Kartavya Bhawan, was attended by MSME Secretary Bharat Khera and a Polish delegation led by Michał Baranowski, Deputy Minister in Poland's Ministry of Economic Development and Technology.
During the discussions, the Indian side highlighted the contribution of the MSME sector to the country's economy and outlined initiatives such as the Udyam Registration Portal, Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises, Technology Centres and the Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) programme to support enterprise development, technology adoption and market access.
The meeting also reviewed economic ties between the two countries. According to the Ministry, Poland is India's largest trading and investment partner in Central and Eastern Europe, with bilateral trade having tripled between 2013 and 2025.
The discussions also noted the institutional cooperation initiated in 2024 between the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) to strengthen MSME collaboration.
The two sides discussed expanding cooperation in areas including digital transformation, innovation, technology, market linkages, trade and investment, while promoting stronger engagement between the MSME ecosystems of both countries.
