Central Ministries, CPSEs Procure Rs 1.16 Lakh Crore From MSEs, 49.04% Of Total In FY26

New Delhi, Jul 31 (KNN) Central ministries and Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) procured goods and services worth Rs 1.16 lakh crore from micro and small enterprises (MSEs) during FY 2025-26, accounting for 49.04 percent of their total procurement, the government informed the Lok Sabha.

According to data available on the MSME SAMBANDH portal, total procurement by central ministries and CPSEs stood at Rs 2,36,087.44 crore during FY26, of which Rs 1,15,798.39 crore was sourced from MSEs.

Women, SC/ST-Owned MSEs Account For Smaller Share

Procurement from MSEs owned by women stood at Rs 9,059.77 crore, accounting for 3.84 percent of total procurement. Purchases from MSEs owned by Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) stood at Rs 3,984.29 crore, or 1.69 percent.

Under the Public Procurement Policy Order, 2012, central ministries and CPSEs are required to procure at least 25 percent of their annual procurement from MSEs. The target includes 4 percent from SC/ST-owned enterprises and 3 percent from women-owned enterprises.

MSME Ministry Reviews Policy Compliance

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises reviews compliance with the public procurement policy by CPSEs in coordination with the Department of Public Enterprises.

Year-wise procurement data from central ministries, departments and CPSEs is made available on the MSME SAMBANDH portal.
