47826 tribal entrepreneurs trained for value addition: MoS Tribal Affairs Bhabhor

New Delhi, Mar 13 (KNN) Over 47826 tribal beneficiaries have been trained for value addition in traditional skills like handicraft, tribal arts, sustainable harvesting and primary processing, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jaswantsinh Bhabhor informed in Lok Sabha.

“Training is provided to tribal beneficiaries/entrepreneurs who are generally either unemployed or self-employed for value addition etc. in traditional skills like handicraft, tribal arts, sustainable harvesting and primary processing of minor forest produce and similar other products etc.”, an official release said.

Citing statistics, the Minister informed in 2014-15, over 16122 beneficiaries were trained in the year 2014-15.

The number of people trained in 2015-16 stood at 15135, which rose to 16569 in 2016-17.

Calculating the number of beneficiaries in last three years, the Minister informed over 47826 tribal beneficiaries/entrepreneurs were trained so far.

With regard to a dedicated small scale industry specific scheme, the Minister said, so far, any such scheme has not been formulated. (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/DA)
