FISME seeks support from Defence Secretary for fair share for MSMEs in Defence Production
New Delhi, Apr 13 (KNN) Informing about the initiatives taken to boost the MSMEs in the crucial defence sector, a delegation from the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) apprised the Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar about the latest developments during the DefExpo 2018.
Talking to KNN, Pushpak Prakash, Chairman MSME Defence Supplier Group of FISME said that a meeting was held with Ajay Kumar, Secretary, Department of Defence, along the sidelines of the ongoing expo in Chennai.
The Secretary was informed about the initiatives undertaken by FISME and the events organised to support MSMEs in defence production.
"We also informed him about the dedicated wing at FISME for defence suppliers. Responding to this the Secretary appreciated the efforts of FISME".
Prakash informed that the Secretary has agreed to support FISME's defence supplier group by helping MSMEs to get into their data bank.
The Secretary also hinted at supporting FISME's bid for international cooperation in the sector with Czech Republic.
Prakash also spoke about the disappointment of the MSMEs with the government not considering them for transfer of technology.
He said that the MSMEs were expecting a good number of MoUs with the Defence Ministry for transfer of technology.
