Punjab receives investments worth Rs 3,200 cr in textile sector in nine months

Chandigarh, Jan 6 (KNN) Punjab in the last nine months has secured investments of more than Rs 3,200 crores in textiles, technical textiles and apparel sectors, said Investment Promotion Minister Anmol Gagan Mann on Thursday.

“These investments in the textile industry will help create employment opportunities for over 13,000 skilled workers in the sector,” she said.

As per reports, the companies that have invested in the state include Sanatan Polycott, Nahar Spinning Mills and many other leading firms.

Mann pointed out that this investment highlights the initiatives taken by the state government which is focused on creating an industrial ecosystem in the state that is conducive to business.

“The industry friendly policies of the Punjab government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has helped bring investments to the state,” the industries minister added.

Punjab’s connectivity in terms of roads, railways and airways, friendly labour relations with no domicile restrictions and uninterrupted power supply offers a favourable environment for businesses looking to set up their operations in Punjab.  (KNN Bureau)
