AP & Telangana Guv urges industry to set up incubation centres in villages rather than in capitals

Hyderabad, July 5 (KNN) ESL Narasimhan, Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has urged the industry to bridge the urban-rural divide by promoting innovation and skill development in rural areas.

Speaking after flagging off the centenary celebrations of the Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTAPCCI) here on Monday, he urged the industrialists to set up an incubation centre in a village rather than in Hyderabad and Vijayawada.

“The industry chambers should also focus on skill development beyond IT sector and function as a growth engine for economy of the both States,” he added.

Referring about the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Narasimhan said there was a need to take up long-term projects instead of activities such as planting of trees and distributing freebies.

The industry should come forward to adopt villages and education institutes for holistic development, he stated.

Ravindra Modi, President, FTAPCCI said an incubation centre was being planned by the chambers to provide hand-holding to start-ups.

FTAPCCI was working along with the two States to ensure industrial development and inputs being provided by it were considered by the government in industrial policies, said President.

A new portal and logo of FTAPCCI were also launched during the occasion. (KNN Bureau)
