Belgaum’s District Industry Single Window Committee discusses various issues with MSMEs, other depts

Belgaum, Aug 19 (KNN) Belgaum’s District Industry Single Window Committee formed by Karnataka Government held a meeting chaired by DC N Jayaram in Belgavi. The issues related land allotment, sick units, shutdown of illegal units etc were taken up in the meeting.

Priya Puranik, Secretary, Laghu Udyog Bharati, Karnataka, which is the member of the committee, told KNN, “Many issues related to land allotment and sick industries were discussed.”

The DC asked the Pollution Control Board to issue orders for shutdown of illegal units in the district.

He said no new licenses should be given to beef and mutton factories. However, the units can store the meat but not chop it.

The industry bodies along with Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC), BESCOM, Municipal Corporations, Bankers were also present in the meeting.

Issues related to infrastructure of the industrial areas including steet light, water facility, ATM, drainage system etc were discussed with the concerned officials.

Puranik said, “We also discussed about loans under Mudya Yojana with the banks. We urged that Mudra loans should be given to the MSME units.”

Belagavi city, known as Kunda Nagari has been selected for Smart City project in the first list of 20 cities announced by the central government in January. City stood top in different 12 parameters including budget management, audit reports, sanitation programme, water supply, e-governance, website updates, tax collection etc. (KNN Bureau)
