New Delhi, Apr 22 (KNN) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) gave its approval yesterday for four-laning of the Rewa-Sidhi section of National Highway (NH)-75E in the state of Madhya Pradesh through a public-private partnership on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis.

“The project will expedite the improvement of infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh and reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Rewa and Sidhi towns,” an official release said.

It will also increase the employment potential for local labourers for project activities. The main townships on the project highway are Rewa, Rithi, Mehsab and Badahaura.

The cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 677.21 crore including Rs 49.34 crore for land acquisition and other pre-construction activities. The total length of road will be approximately 71 kms, an official release said.

Furthermore, The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has given another approval for the two laning with paved shoulders of the Ladnu (Nimbhi-Jodha) – Degana -Merta City section of National Highway-458 in the state of Rajasthan under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-IV through Public-Private Partnership on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.

The project cost is estimated to be Rs 552.09 crore and the total length of road will be approximately 140 kms.

This will reduce the time and cost of travelling between Ladnu (Nimbhi-Jodha) – Degana-Merta City and will engage the unemployed labours for the project activities. The stretch connects Ajmer in the east, Udaipur in the south, Nagaur in the west and Sikar in the east.

Both the projects will help in uplifting the socio-economic condition of this region of the state. (KNN)
