Bhiwadi, May 23 (KNN) An upcoming industrial and commercial town in Rajasthan which is 70 kilometres from Delhi, will emerge as an Aetropolis, around which it will expand into a full-fledged modern city boasting of an airport catering to both cargo and passengers.

The small township which is attracting a huge amount of investment in the real estate sector is one of the major nodes of the ambitious Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), which is being built up in partnership with the Japanese Government and would ultimately be home to investment of USD 90 billion.

The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC) has already started working on the Bhiwadi airport project.

The entire belt of Khuskhera Bhiwadi Neemrana Investment Region (KBN IR) in Rajasthan will emerge as a major centre of investment and business in the times to come.
DMICDC has invited bids from consultants to undertake impact assessment of the proposed Greenfield Airport near Bhiwadi on existing Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here.

The KBN IR in Rajasthan is one of the major nodes being developed as self-sustained, futuristic investment destinations in the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
KBN IR is intended to be a trade and industrial hub which includes an Aerotropolis, an airport around which the city develops. The proposed Aerotropolis project while serving as a back-up for the IGIA would also be attracting passengers as well as cargo within at least 100 kilometres radius from Rajasthan and even adjoining Haryana.

In this context, consultancy firm will support the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in assessing and satisfying the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s suggestion for a study that will verify that KBN Aerotropolis, Rajasthan, does not pose a threat to the core catchment area of the IGIA, Delhi.

The basic work to be performed by the consultant would be preparation of impact assessment and compare whether the IGIA catchment area overlaps with KBN investment region.

The consultant would also analyse the past trends in growth and factors affecting the air traffic at IGI Airport, neighbouring airports, other international and custom airports in north India and all Indian airports taken together.

They would also be responsible for the development of traffic forecast models and development of passengers, cargo and aircraft movement traffic forecast for international and domestic traffic for IGIA taking into account the development of new airport at Kotkasim in Alwar district, Rajasthan, assuming that the new airport becomes operational in approximately five years.

The Government of India has envisaged the development of DMIC along the alignment of the proposed multi-modal high axle load dedicated freight corridor between Delhi and Mumbai, covering an overall length of 1,483 km.

DMICDC, a special purpose company was incorporated to establish, promote and facilitate the development of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project.  (KNN)
