Doing business is rather getting harder, say MP MSMEs

Indore, Apr 8 (KNN) Instead of ease of doing business, doing business is getting harder for the MSMEs, said Madhya Pradesh industries.

On one hand the government is inviting new companies to come and invest in the state, but what about the old units, said Yogesh Mehta, Secretary, Association of Industries (AOI), Madhya Pradesh.

On Thursday, while addressing the industrialists MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “We will invest Rs 1.5 lakh crore on rural development in the next four years and will provide housing for all under the mission. Also, the state will invest Rs 75,000 crore towards enhancing the urban infrastructure like sanitation, solid water management and water availability.

Addressing business delegates during a seminar on Investment Opportunities in Madhya Pradesh, Singh said the state has very well taken care of the "ease of doing business" factor and invited them to establish themselves there.

The seminar was in preparation towards states next Global Investors Summit to be held on October 22-23 this year in Indore.

Responding to this, Mehta said, “Government has taken loan for the industrial development and infrastructure but ultimately industries have to bear it. The Government is only branding its image. They are doing everything for new industries but the old industries are dying. They don’t listen to the old industries.”

The MP MSMEs cried that there is lack of good infrastructure for them. “We don’t get marketing assistance from government’s side at both-national as well as international levels.”

It is not ease of doing business but hard of doing business, said Mehta.

At the time of global slowdown, AOI Secretary said, the government should do something to generate revenue and not come up with the policies/ circulars which creates problems for the industry.

Meanwhile, while addressing the Summit, Chouhan said that the state government would soon come up with a separate ministry for MSME and create a Ministry of Happiness. (KNN Bureau)
