FOSMI seeks suggestions from MSMEs on procurements in Railways

Kolkata, Jan 25 (KNN) The Federation of Small & Medium Industries (FOSMI) in West Bengal has sought suggestions  from the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state regarding the procurements in Railways.

The industry body, in a letter to the MSMEs, said that, “There would be some changes made by the Railways with regard to their procurement system in the future.”

In this context, FOSMI has called for a meeting with the small sector entrepreneurs on January 28.

A memorandum based on the relevant inputs would be prepared and sent to the Railway Minister, Government of India, the FOSMI letter said.

According to the Public Procurement Policy, the Central Government Ministries, Departments and Public Sector Undertakings shall procure minimum of 20 per cent of their annual value of goods or services from Micro and Small Enterprises. (KNN Bureau)
