Govt’s decision to set up 3800 MSME units in Odisha will boost employment: Utkal Chamber

Bhubaneswar, Mar 8 (KNN) The micro, small and medium enterprises in Odisha are happy with the state government's announcement to set up 38000 units and provide employment to one lakh people in there.

Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik had made the announcement in this context on Saturday.

Reacting to this, Prashant Satapathy, Secretary, Utkal Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said, “Government has taken a very good decision. New 38000 MSMEs will give boost to employment in the state.”

Satapathy said the industry is happy with the new industrial policy in state.

Patnaik, on Saturday, said that the government would develop five food processing corridors and set up 10 food parks in the state.

He said this while addressing the 12th Entrepreneurs’ Week. He also mentioned that 10 livelihood business incubators would be set up in the potential districts.

Talking about the initiatives taken by the government keeping in view the importance of MSME sector, Patnaik mentioned about the MSME development policy 2009, Odisha Food processing policy 2013, Odisha Procurement Preference Policy 2015.

The chief minister also said the Odisha Industries Facilitation Amendment Rule 2015 has been notified to provide a conducive environment for industrialisation.
He said a Composite Inspection Framework is being worked out to reduce the frequency of inspection by various authorities. (KNN Bureau)
