Guj CM disburses grants worth Rs. 413 Crore for developing infra and facilities in 31 cities

Ahmedabad, Mar 10 (KNN) Moving towards providing robust infrastructure and strengthening public services, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel disbursed grant of Rs 413 Crore to 31 cities of the state under the AMRUT Mission and Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojna.

This grant was provided with an aim of enhancing civic facilities in 8 municipal corporations and 23 municipalities, according to a press release.

The central government has sanctioned Rs. 1204 crore for the year 2015-16 under the Amrut Mission under which 31 cities of the state are covered. Also, Rs 212.25 crore for development work has been allocated under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Saheri Vikas Yojna.

The grant also aims to promote cleanliness and development of public places like lakes, gardens etc. for the entertainment of the citizens. The government is actively engaged in planned and quick provision of “smart” facilities in various cities of the state.

CM Patel expressed her confidence that with the collective efforts of the state and central government as well as the cooperation of citizens, the cities of the state will soon compete with the top cities of the world.

She also guided officials and elected representatives to make optimum use of the grant provided and fulfil expectations of the citizens.
