Gujarat industries hail govt’s decision to organise separate 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit' for MSMEs

Gandhinagar, July 4 (KNN) Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel said a separate 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit' for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) would be organised to attract investment in the sector.

The announcement of organising such an event, which will be on the pattern of biennial 'Vibrant Summit', was made by Patel at the western region conference of 'Laghu Udyog Bharati', a pan-India organisation of MSME industry.

Talking to KNN, the Vice President of Vatva Industries Association (VIA), Ankit Patel said that if the government is focussing to highlight the MSMEs at the international level then it is welcoming news.

He said that MSMEs are the backbone of the economy in India. “Especially in Gujarat, MSMEs generate maximum employment. It is also the biggest part of our GDP growth,” he said.

CM Patel on Sunday said that MSMEs provide maximum employment opportunities in the state.

“She has already started this initiative couple of years back after swearing in as the chief minister and has also interacted with all the industry bodies face to face to know about their problems and get them resolved”, he added.

She assured the industry leaders that her government will invite suggestions from them about problems being faced by this sector and would try to solve them within couple of months.

However, Ankit Patel said that all the industries have their problems day by day. There are many problems which still need attention in many sectors and we are sure that she will give good result out of this.

He explained that she got good success in solving the problems. “We are sure that she is going to do this on larger platform now that would me much more beneficiary to all the MSMEs,” Ankit Patel said.

“Separate summit for the MSMEs is a need of the hour,” VIA VP said

The 8th edition of 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit', a brain child of then Chief Minister Narendra Modi, is scheduled to take place from January 10, next year. (KNN Bureau)
