Gurgaon, Mar 9 (KNN) After being into headlines for not so good reasons, Haryana got back into news for bagging investment of Rs 5.84 lakh crore through as many as 357 MoUs during the two-day "Happening Haryana: Global Investors' Summit" here.

The total investment that the state got is five hundred times more than its target of Rs.1 lakh crore.

Announcing this at the valedictory function of the summit, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that it was a matter of satisfaction that 39 of the total MoUs involving investment of Rs.1,28,000 crore were for the districts not falling under the National Capital Region.

While 10 per cent of the MoUs were with MNCs, more than 30 per cent MoUs were of values ranging from Rs.100 crore to Rs.1,000 crore. About 26 per cent of the MoUs were in the MSME sector, he said.

The MSME associations in the state are happy with the investments coming into state.

Talking to KNN, Manmohan Gaind, Secretary General, Manesar Industries Welfare Association (MIWA) said, “Happening Haryana was a very successful event.”

He said that the government’s efforts of becoming little soft for the industry is helping investments flow into the state.

“Earlier, the industry officials were very much anti-industry which was killing the industry but now things are changing,” Gaind said.

He pointed that the ease of doing business environment is improving in the state and the industries are getting single window clearance.

MIWA further said that lots of MoUs have been signed for industries in Manesar as well. As many as 120 acres of plots have been sold which includes land from Manesar as well, he added. (KNN Bureau)
