Gurgaon, Feb 18 (KNN) Following incidents of labour unrest and violent protests in and around the Gurgaon-Manesar belt, Haryana Government has decided to set up police stations across the industrial areas of the state. The move has been hailed by the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) here.

Talking to KNN, Secretary General of Gurgaon Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) S K Ahuja welcomed the move and said that it was a long pending demand from the industry.

However, he also said that it is not only setting up police stations but the stations should be fully equipped with modern technology like wireless, vehicles and all.

While the steps to improve security have been taken following incidents of labour unrest and violent industrial strife in and around the Gurgaon-Manesar belt in the recent years, they are part of a larger labour reform agenda recently cleared by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

“Industries are concerned about the law and order situation here. However, the local police here is doing well and they are very supportive,” he added.

In any developing city these things are bound to happen, he said. (KNN Bureau)
