Industries, business establishments, agriculture works will get adequate power supply from Oct: UP CM

Lucknow, Mar 11 (KNN) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that the state will witness a sea change in power supply from the month of October this year.

“By this, while industries and business establishments, agriculture works will get adequate power supply, even rural and urban areas of the state would be illuminated,” he said in a statement.

He also sought early completion of projects undertaken by the power department for quality power supply and also work on new projects, keeping in mind the future requirements and demand of power.

A state government spokesman said that from October 2016, 16 hours power supply in rural areas, 20 hours in Tehsil HQs, 22 hours in district headquarters and 24 power supply in metro cities will be ensured.

For this, he pointed out, the state government was working extensively to upgrade and expand the basic power infrastructure.

This year 32 power transmission sub-stations have been constructed and in the month of January-February alone, six of them have been energized.

The spokesman also informed that the state government was fully committed to timely completion of the basic infrastructure related projects of the power department. (KNN Bureau)
