Jammu, Sept 26 (KNN)  J&K Bank is working out a plan to reach out to the areas and those sections of the societies which remain uncovered by banking including small and medium enterprises. In this context, the bank plans to use information technology and develop a core banking solution.
J&K Bank intends to implement an online solution for financial inclusion in J&K state, the bank said in a notification.

“The solution should be based on an online web application and should comply with the standards in terms of biometric (fingerprint) authentication at the end user,” the notification added.
The bank wants to leverage the existing setup of Common Service Centres (CSCs) established by the bank under national e-governance programme.

Online Financial Inclusion will help expanding online access to financial services, such as payments services, savings products, insurance products, and inflation-protected pensions to every individual of the country.

The National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) has been formulated by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY) and Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).

The main purpose of the CSCs is to provide a physical facility for delivery of e-Services of the Government of India to the rural and remote locations where availability of computers and internet is currently negligible or mostly absent.

J&K Bank functions as a universal bank in Jammu & Kashmir and as a specialised bank in the rest of the country. (KNN/SD)
