K’taka CM soon to lay foundation stone for clusters in Mysuru

Mysuru, May 27 (KNN) To ensure that the developmental work at the proposed clusters to encourage women entrepreneurs, SC/STs and pharma industries in Mysuru is on, the Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka, K Ratna Prabha inspected the proposed sites.

Prabha visited the proposed sites at Thandya Industrial Area of Nanjangud Taluk, Mysuru on Thursday to review the developmental work.

“The proposed clusters to encourage women entrepreneurs, SC/ STs and pharma industries at Tandavapura Industrial Area (THANDYA), in Nanjangud taluk in the district, has got a boost with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expected to lay foundation for development works soon,” Mysuru Industries Association (MIA) General secretary Suresh Kumar Jain said.

According to Prabha, who inspected the sites identified for the cluster, women’s cluster is intended to be developed on 50 acres of land, while 60 acres is required for SC and ST cluster. For Pharma Park and cluster, a vast area of 200 acres is needed, she added.

Prabha also directed special land acquisition officer, KIADB, M R Rajesh and Joint Director for DIC Ramakrishne Gowda to ensure jobs for the children of the farmers whose lands have been acquired and provide them required skill development training.

The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) will develop the clusters and park under the Centre’s cluster development plan. The revenue and lands are expected to be handed over to KIADB soon for initiating the work.

A total of 30 clusters will be developed in the State, including that of Mysuru, as announced recently by Industries Minister R V Deshpande, Jain said.

Suresh Kumar Jain, who is also the General Secretary of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Council had urged the government to establish clusters in Mysore in the pre-budget memorandum. (KNN Bureau)
