MSMEs face shortage of skilled labour in Jharkhand

Ranchi, June 9 (KNN) Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said the state will impart skill training to at least 20 lakh youth in the next five years and efforts are on to set up 500 skill training centres to achieve the target.

The centres would train students and the unemployed among others and priority would be given to Schedule Tribe and Schedule Caste youth, an official release said quoting Das at a meeting here.

Talking to KNN on the matter, the President of Jharkhand Small Industries Association, Yogendra Kumar Ojha said that it is very necessary to do skill development here and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are facing lot of problem with skilled labour.

When asked about the Government intentions towards the skill development, he said that Government target is huge but off course they have to achieve something and Central Government has to encourage the skill development. We hope that State Government will work hard on this matter.

“We don’t get skilled labour here in Jharkhand, but the work is under process on Skill development mission in the state”, he explained adding that even there is lack of skilled labour for the hotel industry and start-Up businesses.

He said that old industries have the skilled labour but if we have to expand the work then we face problem.  We cannot manage a skill labour if one left the work. (KNN Bureau)
