National Vendor Development programme to be held in B'lore

Bangalore, Jan 18 (KNN) With the view to facilitate increased business between PSUs and SMEs, a two day National Vendor Development Programme cum Industrial Exhibition ‘Ind Expo’ is being organized by the MSME-Development Institute here.
 
The expo is being organized on January 20-21 with an objective to facilitate increased business fusion between premier Public Sector Units and Indian SMEs for their mutual benefit, by way of providing appropriate marketing linkages.
 
MSME-Development Institute, Bangalore Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC), Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) along with All Industry Associations of Karnataka is organizing the two day event. The programme is being supported by SIDBI, NSIC, KVIC and Coir Board.
 
Last year in September, the Karnataka government came out with a notification under Karnataka transparency in public procurement rules 2000 Amendment of rules 25 and 26 of 2015.
 
“The Public Procurement Policy coupled with Price Preference Policy may be explored during this 2-day Vendor Development Programme,” said KASSIA.
           
CPSUs like HAL, BEML, BHEL, BEL, NMDC, South Western Railways, Rail Wheel Factory and State PSUs Mysore Electrical Industries, KSTRC will be  participating in the Vendor Development Programme and will be disseminating the procedures followed by them to get registered as a vendor to them.

“The MSMEs will have the rare opportunity to interact with the Government departments, CPSUs, Large Scale Units on a single platform,” said KASSIA.

“The role of the financial institutions becomes even more important and critical due to overall impact on Indian Industry, especially the vulnerable SME sectors, due to the global financial crisis,” said the industry body.
 
SIDBI, NABARD, Vijaya Bank, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, Canara Bank, State Bank of Mysore, Punjab National Bank, UCO Bank will also be a part of the event and provide more information on products available with them to support the SMEs for their perpetual growth. 
 
During the event, more than 200 units from Defence, Aerospace, Machine Tools, CNC clusters, Machine Building, Electronics, Electrical Biotechnology Information Technology and Communication etc., will be exhibiting their competencies.
 
The event will be inaugurated on January 20 by Ramalinga Reddy, Minister for Transport, Government of Karnataka.
 
Satish Laxmanrao Jarkiholi, Minster for SSI, Govt of Karnataka, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and B. Gurappa Naidu, Chairman, KSSIDC, Bangalore will be Chief Guests and Surendra Nath Tripati, IAS, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME, will also attend the event.
