Coimbatore, May 2 (KNN) Highlighting the need to be at a power surplus position, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, while addressing an electorate in the industrial belt, said the state has largest number of MSMEs and is a front runner in attracting foreign direct investments.

Training guns towards DMK-Congress alliance, AIADMK general secretary called it as an “alliance of corrupt”.

Taking away all the credit for a good power situation in the state, she said Tamil Nadu had 10 hours of power cut on a daily basis during the DMK rule in 2011, affecting all sections of society, including farmers and students.

“Now, my government has added 7,485.5 MW of power. From June last, there is no power cut,” she said.

On the industrial front, Tamil Nadu was second only to Maharashtra in domestic production and was the third largest exporter in the country.

“It has the largest number of MSMEs, and is a front runner in attracting foreign direct investment,” she said, underlining the need for a power surplus position.
