Poor power supply leads to production loss as well as damages machinery parts: Jammu MSMEs

Jammu, June 20 (KNN) The Jammu based MSMEs are upset over the poor power supply in the industrial areas which has been adversely affecting the production activities at their units.

In this regard, the Association of Industries (AOI), Gangyal, held a meeting to discuss about the poor power supply in SICOP Industrial Complex.

“A step motherly treatment is being given to Gangyal & Digiana Industrial Estate by the Power Development Department,” AOI President Rajesh Jain said.

The Members expressed disappointment over frequent tripping of power supply and low voltage from Grid Station and Gangyal receiving station.

Jain said, “The unit holders are facing problems and their production activities are disturbed due to poor power supply here resulting into huge financial losses.”

Poor power supply and voltage fluctuations not only results into production loss but also damages the motors and electrical parts of the machinery, explained the entrepreneur.

The matter was brought in the notice of Chief Engineer, M&RE & System Operation, Jain added.

The Members of the Association strongly flayed the working of Power Development Department (PDD) where nobody is accountable for repeated power failures and low voltage in the area.

On one side, the State Government has committed 24 hours uninterrupted power supply to the industry while on the other hand the basic facilities and power are not available here, said AOI chief. (KNN Bureau)
